Self-care before child care

It is important to learn to take care of oneself before committing to helping a child. Adults need to learn to prioritize their social and emotional wellness in order to put forward the best self we can give. If we are well rested, joyful, calm, and positive, the child will be able to see it and mirror it. However, if we show a kid our frustration, anger, and negativity, they will also absorb it.
