Breath-Body-Mind Child Well-Being Exercise Videos
Evidence-based Breath-Body-Mind (BBM) programs were created through 20 years of trauma work by Richard P. Brown, MD, associate professor in clinical psychiatry at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Patricia Gerbarg, MD, assistant professor in clinical psychiatry at New York Medical College. Clinical trials, including for survivors of disasters, show rapid, significant improvements in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. BBM techniques counteract the adverse effects of stress and trauma on the nervous systems of children.
Exercises for the body and mind go a long way. According to Dr. Patricia Gerbarg, assistant clinical professor in psychiatry, Breath-Body-Mind exercises can help children reduce anxiety and relax their body before bed.
